Greenbacks Wedding Shower?

Dear Wedding Shower Planner:

If this is indeed a real question and not a little joke, the answer is no.

If your bride and groom do not need anything, then why are you having a shower, the purpose of which is to help newly weds get a head start.

The proper way to help them celebrate their upcoming wedding is to give them an engagement party with invitations marked "no gifts please".

It is never acceptable to ask guests to bring money unless you are raising funds for a charity. Otherwise, it is simply rude.
