When you state on a 50th invitaion, No presents please, and some guests give you a present; are you required to write a thank you note.

Thank You Notes

Dear Terri,

Good manners require one to send a thank you note for gifts received, whether the gifts were wanted or not. Many people simply do not honor the "no gifts please" request. However, it is through generosity and not a malicious act of defiance. By all means, say thank you in a personal note.
