Is it necessary to acknowledge all get-well cards with a thank you card? Also are e-mail thank you's acceptable?

It is not necessary to acknowledge get well cards with thank you cards. However, a phone call or email letting those who expressed concern know that you are feeling better and appreciate their thoughtfulness.
