Rehearsal Dinner Guest List

My husband and I are on a VERY tight budget and wondering if we must invite the bridesmaids/groomsmen each with a guest/boyfriend/husband to a rehearsal dinner? Or can we invite only those in the wedding party and out of town guests? (Some bridesmaids/groomsmen are from out of town.)Thank you.

Hello Andi~

The purpose of the traditional rehearsal dinner is to allow the families of the bride and groom an opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed situation. The best manners have you including the bridesmaids and groomsmen as your guests. You are not under obligation to include their spouses/dates. Alternatively, you can ask the maid of honor and the best man without including the rest of the wedding group. If your budget allows, you can invite out of town guests.
