wife and i went to a restaurant the other day. man who sold me my furnace was eating. we exchanged pleasantries. upon finishing his meal he left. when he left the waitress came over and said he had paid for our meals. how or what measures do i take to show appreciation?

Robert,

This is an interesting question. What a lovely gesture on the part of your furnace vendor. You can thank him in several different ways, but it is important for you to express your gratitude. A phone call or handwritten note are a fine way to show your appreciation. Referring your friends and family to him for their furnace needs is an extra thank you later on.
