Dear party giver,

Printing “no pets please” on an invitation is only appropriate when you feel more than one invitee may bring their animal. If this will single out one person only, then it is rude. Instead, just ask the pet lover by phone or in person to please not bring the pet and you will be very sorry if this keeps her from attending.
