New Home

My son is Military, just got to his first duty station which is also his first "home". Married just over a year with a new baby, his wife will be relocating as well. They did not have a wedding or even a reception . They have NOTHING to start a home with. My daughter in law is asking about having a "housewarming" kind of party. (Probably with some kind of registry for their new home.) All family and friends live here in Miami FL and they are relocating to Louisiana.

Is this okay? To have a party here in Miami celebrating a new home no one will see? If so what do we name the celebration?
