Invitation to invite someone to dinner

Have a Friend who is alone and her son is in California and her Daughter is some where in the east coast . She will be alone on Christmas Day. So I thought it would be nice to ivite her to our Family dinner no one knows her except my husband and myself. and this Dinner would be at our Daughters is it wrong or am I crazy ? I thought it would be lonesome by her self.
