Dear Brad,

What you do in this situation depends upon the friends. If you and your girlfriend are both close with the group, then joining in without your girlfriend is fine if she agrees. However, if she does not know all members of the group, it may make her uncomfortable when she cannot accompany you. Ask her how she feels about it. Ask the others how they feel about your going unattached. Then decide.
