Our church is having a banquet to celebrate the church anniversary. We are having a guest preacher; his ticket complimentary. Who pays for his wife's ticket-he or does the church? We are giving him an honorarium.

Dear Doris,

The church should pay for both tickets. The honorarium has nothing to do with his wife's attendance at the banquet. Good practical etiquette would have you extending this courtesy to his wife as well.
